How to make your home a little cosier this Autumn

“Interior design trends for 2023 reflect the lasting changes that recent years have made to our lives,” says Luxaflex Brand Partner, Neale Whittaker.

“The idea of home as sanctuary is now less of a response to the pandemic and more of a response to uncertain and chaotic times,” he adds. 

Now that Autumn is fast approaching, for instance, you may want to consider replacing some of your cool, breezy fabrics and tones with warmer, cosy options that make your home feel especially inviting. 

Here are some key Autumnal trends to watch out for:  

Warm, earthy tones

After the white-dominated palettes of the last few years, we’re now starting to see some genuine pops of colour emerging in interiors – like Pantone’s colour of the year, Viva Magenta.

Introducing Autumnal tones into your home - like burnt orange, rich browns, deep reds, and forest greens - can be an ideal way to add a sense of warmth and comfort. These colours are a great way to make your home feel cosy and inviting and can be found across most Luxaflex^® internal window covering collections. 

“Colour wise, we're going to see some rich, saturated colour… in a general trend away from the pastels that have dominated in recent years,” says Neale. 

“We're also going to be seeing a lot more black. Black is back. The Deco influence of recent years continues to reveal itself through sinuous curves and geometric shapes, and popular TV shows like The White Lotus have also inspired a new interest in coastal and resort styling,” he adds. 

In keeping with this, you may want to consider blinds in the following tones: 

• Mustard yellow – can add a bright, “sunny” feel to a room during the cooler months. 
• Pumpkin orange – can instil a sense of vibrancy and energy to an interior space.
