The season premiere kicked off with a bang as we met all the contestants and watched them get to know each other as they embarked on the journey of creating their fellow competitors’ forever dream homes. First stop is Melbourne, where Brad and Mel’s Northcote home and Taelar and Elle’s Watsonia home are up for renovation. The contestants have 2.5 weeks to transform their assigned spaces.
VIC Teams:
Brad and Mel - This rookie couple eagerly anticipates the transformation of their untouched home into a spacious and functional haven for their family of six.
Taelar and Elle - Victorian sisters, armed with architecture expertise and a passion for flipping houses, are prepared to renovate the contestant’s home into their dream home.
QLD Teams:
Hannah and Jonny - New Queensland parents are determined to transform their cramped Coorparoo house into a safe and beautiful home for their newborn twins.
Rhys and Liam - Tradie brothers bringing their skills and brotherly bond to make Liam's dream home a reality.
NSW Teams:
Lara and Peter - A Sydney couple facing financial challenges are eager to see their dream home come true as they raise their young, active children.
Jacinta and Jordan - A couple with contrasting personalities, fuelled by their love for construction, are ready to show the judges they have what it takes to win.
Sisters Taelar and Elle left a meticulously detailed brief for their dream home, ensuring every inch would flow seamlessly with a cohesive style - a testament to their architectural expertise and passion for flipping houses.
However, rookie couple Brad and Mel, tasked with the bathroom and main bedroom, threw a curveball by deciding to separate the toilet into a powder room, causing concerns over shrinking the study space. Delays with bathroom tiling and their inexperience in making critical decisions under pressure added to the mounting challenges.
Meanwhile, Lara and Peter tackled transforming bedroom two and the living area but had to sacrifice space in their living area to accommodate Rhys and Liam's showstopping kitchen statement. Sharing the open-plan space with the tradie brothers proved tricky, as Elle's brief specified a built-in TV unit and a freestanding fireplace, leaving the couple to navigate the intricate design puzzle. At the same time, Rhys and Liam focused on creating that masterpiece kitchen with natural stone elements like a porcelain island bench, splashback, and benchtop.

In the heart of Northcote, Brad and Mel had their sights set on transforming their overcrowded home into a spacious and functional haven for their family of six. Their new floor plan emphasised family functionality.
Despite a re-stumping issue causing a site shutdown, Taelar and Elle remained undeterred, their winning strategy is crystal clear – preserve and highlight the home's heritage features while seamlessly blending them with modern design elements. They relocated the ceiling rows from the dining room to the boys' bedroom, pairing them with contemporary cabinetry and a secret doorway to the bathroom, ensuring a harmonious blend of old and new.
Hannah and Jonny took charge of the living area, while Jacinta and Jordan tackled the dining and kitchen spaces, each contributing their unique design to accommodate the family's needs.
With the stage set and the teams in place, the countdown to the reveal has begun. Stay tuned for next week's instalment, where we unveil the breathtaking transformations and witness the magic of Luxaflex's window furnishings in action!
